SUMMER IS HERE! TIME FOR OUTDOOR FUN!

We finished the first half of our First Friday Building Business Over Breakfast series (we'll be back in September),and had our Quarterly Breakfast at Big Walnut Grill in May, then June brought the Big Shot and now we're gearing up for the Fourth of July! The oppressive heat and potential for dangerous storms caused our chamber, in conjunction with Delaware Chamber and Tanger Outlets, to cancel our networking event. We offered a new class this year about HR in the workplace and look forward to offering it again in the future. The summer always brings fun community events hosted not only by the Chamber but other local organizations as well. Be sure to check our website for upcoming events and important news. Whether you are new to the chamber or have been around for a while, we encourage you to get involved. Not only do we promote your business, and offer networking events as well as classes to help your business grow and succeed, but we welcome members to join a committee, volunteer at an event and yes, we welcome your feedback! It's one of the ways we learn and grow and do the best job we can at supporting you!

Help us make this the best Fourth yet! As always there will be vendors on the square, civic will host the parade and then the KidZone opens up and the contests begin. This year in addition to the hot dog eating contest, we've added a pie contest and a men in heels race. I know, I know, why would men want to dress in heels and race?! This year, it's just for fun but next year we want to connect with a cause. So sign up, get those heels, and run, run, run! Have a good pie recipe? Bake it and bring it to the square at a chance to earn a ribbon. 

This year was the third Big Shot for the chamber but the first for Donna and Nancy.  The weather was perfect and the teams hit the course after fueling up with a hearty lunch from Big Walnut Grill. After shooting, everybody celebrated at OH Pizza & Prime. Our first place winner was the city of Sunbury, and Consolidated Electric took second place. Our all around top shooter was Dave Brehm. Our raffle winners were George Kaitsa and Tim Gose.
