Her topic will be "Spring into Action: Promoting Health and Wellness for our Seniors "  She will be discussing the decline in the overall Physical and Mental health of older adults since the Pandemic and how our seniors are starting to become more active.\n\nShawn is a licensed Physical Therapist\, Founder and President of Senior Health and Wellness Group\, an education and consulting company\, as well as Founder/Owner of Select Home Care\, a licensed Medicare Skilled Home Health Agency in Columbus\, Ohio that has been in business for 18 years . She obtained a B.S. in Education with a minor in English from Otterbein College in 1992. Deciding to pursue her passion\, she earned a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Andrews University in 1998. She also completed her Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Montana in 2010. She is published in the area of Falls Prevention in Assisting Living Communities. Shawn's proactive holistic approach to healthcare focuses on wellness and prevention strategies\, with an emphasis on improving both Physical and Mental Health for older adults and their caregivers. She currently serves on the Ohio Falls Coalition and Ohio Injury Prevention Partnership through the Ohio Department of Health. She has also been a contributing member of Answers for Elders for more than a decade. Shawn has been a Sunbury resident for 17 years and both of her children graduated from Big Walnut :) Go Eagles!
