The Act is a new federal filing requirement for business owners which went into effect in January 2024 meant to target fraud and money laundering.  The Act requires most businesses to report certain ownership information to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) in order to remain compliant.  The reporting deadline for businesses in existence on or before January 1\, 2024 was December 31\, 2024\, and many business owners are either unaware of the requirement or unsure of the deadline.
