Part-Time Garden Center Associate - Cashier and Merchandising

Do you love plants, have a creative eye, and want a part-time job that actually works around your life? We are looking for someone to join our Garden Center team in a true part-time role — about 15 hours a week — split between helping customers at our register and putting your creative touch on our in-store displays.

We build the schedule around the hours you tell us you can work. That can be a weekday shift while the kids are at school, a couple of mornings a week, or weekends only. No experience in retail is required and no formal resume is needed — if you love plants and enjoy people, we will teach you the rest.

What You'll Do

Helping Customers (about 10 hrs/week)

· Greet customers and help them find the right plants and products for their projects

· Ring up sales on our point-of-sale system

· Answer questions and share your gardening know-how

· Keep the checkout area organized and running smoothly

Making It Beautiful (about 5 hrs/week)

· Design and build eye-catching seasonal displays and featured product tables

· Refresh signage and pricing so everything looks sharp

· Keep shelves and displays neat, full, and inviting

· Bring fresh ideas to how we showcase our plants and products

What We're Looking For

· A friendly, dependable person who enjoys talking with people

· Some creative flair — an eye for color, layout, and making things look good

· Comfortable with basic math and learning a simple point-of-sale system

· Personal or professional experience with plants and gardening is a plus, but not required

· Able to be on your feet for most of a shift and lift up to 25 lbs regularly — carts and team lift are available, and our yard staff handle the heavy bagged goods, stone, and trees

Schedule

· About 15 hours per week, built around your availability

· Day shift only — we have no night shifts

· School-hours shifts available, roughly 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM

· Weekdays only, weekends only, or a mix — you tell us what works

· Most holidays off

· Hours can flex up in the spring season and down in the quieter months

Work Setting

Primarily indoors in our retail store and covered greenhouse areas, with time outdoors among the plants in good weather. This is a retail position, not a landscape crew position.
