1st Impressions Landscape and Garden Center was created in 1998 and provides Landscape Design and Installation, Estate Management, Snow Removal and a Retail Garden Center. We create outdoor spaces that leave lasting impressions. We are seeking an energetic, relationship-driven, and creative Landscape Design & Sales Representative who is passionate about design, customer experience, and business growth. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced small business environment and embraces both the creative and sales aspects of the landscaping industry.

Job Summary
The Landscape Design & Sales Associate is responsible for converting sales opportunities, designing functional and aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces, and managing projects from initial consultation through completion. This individual will actively build lasting client relationships and collaborate closely with operations and production teams to ensure successful project execution.
This position requires a motivated self-starter who can balance creativity, organization, communication, and sales accountability while contributing positively to the culture and growth of the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Landscape Design & Client Consultation
- Meet with residential clients to assess landscape needs, project goals, and budgets, holding oneself accountable for the relationship, project success, communication, and follow through
- Develop creative and functional landscape designs, layouts, and material selections
- Conduct site measurements, photographs, and field assessments as needed
- Prepare professional, accurate estimates, proposals, presentations, and supporting documentation, ensuring project meets company standards and customer expectations
- Recommend appropriate plant materials, hardscapes, lighting, drainage, and outdoor living solutions to ensure customer satisfaction adhering to the highest level of integrity through honest communications and ethical business practices
- Guide customers through the design and construction process from concept to completion
- Follow up on all incoming leads in a timely manner
- Build and maintain relationships with homeowners
- Track sales opportunities, customer communication, and project status
- Meet individual sales goals and contribute to overall company revenue growth
- Identify opportunities for upselling additional landscape or maintenance services
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure smooth project execution
- Assist in communicating project scope, expectations, and change orders timely and honestly ensuring realistic timelines, and transparent pricing
- Monitor projects throughout installation to ensure quality standards are achieved
- Address customer questions and concerns professionally and promptly
- Maintain organized project records, notes, and documentation
- Work closely with leadership and field teams to support company initiatives and operational success
- Participate in team meetings, training, and company events
- Support seasonal operations and additional responsibilities as needed
- Degree or certification in Landscape Design, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of landscape design experience required
- Knowledge of landscape construction, plant materials, and hardscape products
- Proficiency in utilizing landscape design software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required
- Proficiency in LMN or other Landscape Management Software
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented

- Ability to occasionally walk outdoor job sites, warehouse sites, and retail location
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and electronically
This position operates primarily in an office environment with periodic exposure to outdoor work areas, yard waste processing operations, retail environments, and active landscape production sites. Occasional exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and operational equipment may occur.
